MOORESVILLE — The driver of a Ford work truck that struck a Mercedes-Benz stopped on Teeter Road on Aug. 16 has been identified as Mark Carl Rigby, 65. He has already been charged with misdemeanor death by motor vehicle and failure to maintain lane. N.C. State Highway Patrol officials said Rigby was traveling east on N.C. Hwy. 152 in a large utility truck behind another car that slowed to make a left turn. Realizing he was not able to stop in time to avoid hitting the car in front of him, Rigby veered to the right, swerving onto Teeter Road and hitting the driver’s side of a white Mercedes, killing the 21-year-old driver identified as Isabella Joyce Gendron.
