High school girls tennis: Hornets sweep North Davidson

SALISBURY — Salisbury’s girls tennis team breezed to a 9-0 win against North Davidson on Tuesday.
There were lots of 6-0, 6-0 matches for coach Milton Griffith’s Hornets (2-0).
Salisbury is missing the Wymbs sisters, but returns four of its top players from last season and has added freshmen Anna Kate Goodman and Gabriella Fatovic at the No. 5 and No. 6 seeds.
Lucy Barr, Meredith Williams, Addison Griffith, Lola Koontz, Goodman and Fatovic won on Tuesday.
The winning doubles teams were Barr/Williams, Goodman/Koontz and Griffith/Fatovic.
Salisbury is scheduled to host West Davidson at 4 p.m. on Wednesday in a Central Carolina Conference match.
