SALISBURY — The field is set for another Crowder-Dorsett Labor Day 4-Ball Golf Tournament at the Country Club of Salisbury.

The event has been a staple of Rowan County sports since 1952.

Tee times and official first-round pairings will be released on Wednesday.

Davie legends Uly Grissette/Jeffrey Lankford return as the top-seeded team to defend their championship. They’ll have to battle an elite list of challengers. Every team that qualified for the Championship Flight shot at least 69, with three more 69s relegated to the First Flight after a playoff.

The 65 that the father-son team of Chris Owen/McGwire Owen shot on Friday held up throughout qualifying on Saturday and Sunday. They’re the medalists and the No. 2 seed.

The rest of the 16-team Championship Flight includes Ryan Szalay/John McCoy (67), Frank Adams/Russ Adams (67), Kevin Lentz/Jeremy Hurst (68), Brady McIntyre/Jaden Sprinkle (68), Terrain Gill/Andre Robinson (68), Tyler Mulkey/Jordan Taylor (68), Michael Alunga/Christopher Baguma (68), Eric Edwards/Alex Nianouris (68), Andy Lombard/Jason Bernhardt (69), Seth Correll/Jon Dyer (69), Hank Robins/Will Fowler (69), Patrick Gregg/Karl Mitchell (69), Wesley Cline/Jordan Branch (69) and Ryan Burke/Cade Cranfield (69).

Seeds for teams with the same score — there were six 68s, for example — were determined by the order in which scores were posted.

Sixty-four more teams qualified to compete in Match Play in eight eight-team flights. It took an 80 to get into a playoff for the last spot in the Eighth Flight. Jason Sparger/Jackson Sparger got that last spot.

In the eight-team Senior Division Championship Flight (55+), the team of Bob Casmus/Chris Patti is the defending champ.

David Chambers/Mike Herndon led qualifying with a 70. The teams that qualified for the Senior Championship Flight shot 73 or better.

In the Super Senior Championship Flight (65+), the team of Mallory McDaniel/John DeRhodes returns to defend the championship. Qualifying was paced by Doug Glenn/Greg Chappell. They shot 68.
