A section of N.C. 8 near U.S. 29 in Lexington will be closed temporarily on Wednesday, from 9 until 11 a.m. for bridge work.
While the closure is in place, motorists can take the following signed detour route around the work zone:
• Traveling west – Take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 North, turn left onto Old Greensboro Road, then take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 south back to N.C. 8.
• Traveling east – Take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 South to U.S. 64, then take U.S. 29-70/Business I-85 north back to N.C. 8.
