High school soccer roundup: Monday wins for Carson, Salisbury

CHINA GROVE — Carson’s boys soccer team got its first South Piedmont Conference win on Monday by beating East Rowan 8-2.

Carlos Moctezuma and Anthony Medina Beckham scored two goals each for the Cougars.

Jon Pendleton, Jeffrey Moreno, Herixson Galindo and Williams Polanco scored a goal each.

Christian Martinez had two assists. Medina Beckham, Moreno and Wyatt Cornelius had one assist.

SALISBURY — Salisbury won a tight Central Carolina Conference match, scoring twice in the first half and holding off East Davidson 2-1 to stay undefeated.

Fletcher Busby scored both goals for the Hornets (11-0-3, 4-0).

It was the first league loss for East Davidson.

CONCORD — The South Piedmont Conference is competitive from top to bottom.

Robinson is tied for first and won 1-0 at home against ninth-place West Rowan on Monday. Justin Vides scored for the Bulldogs, who have only one SPC loss.

Nathan Freeman kept the Falcons in the match with six saves.

CONCORD – Miguel Zarate scored twice to lead Northwest Cabarrus to a 2-0 South Piedmont Conference win against South Rowan on Monday.

Concord used a goal by Alan Narvaez Gonzalez to edge Lake Norman Charter 1-0. The Spiders stayed tied for first with Robinson.
