Baby Sophia Short, who was born in March, made five generations for some Salisbury natives.
Born in March, baby Sophia, the daughter of Allison and Oliver Short of Asheville, came to Salisbury for a visit on July 21. This was the first get together for all of the family to be able to meet her, as well as the new baby of one of Allison’s cousins who was born just two weeks afterward.
In addition to baby Sophia, who was approximately four months old at the time of the gathering, and mom Allison, the other three generations are great-great-grandmother Hazel Trexler-Campbell, who is 101 and will be celebrating her 102nd birthday in December, great-grandmother Tana Howe and grandmother Melanie Wilde.
All are originally from Salisbury and remain residents here except for the Shorts as Allison moved when she got married and started college.
When the family got together, they took the opportunity to get a five generations photograph to commemorate the special occasion.
