SPENCER — Homecoming went smoothly for North Rowan’s football team on Friday, as the Cavaliers pulverized East Davidson 60-6.

Lineman KaMahri Feamster had the best night as he was crowned homecoming king. The queen was volleyball player Allanah McCarthur. She’s also a sprinter. With a secure 46-0 halftime lead, head coach Josh Sophia could have given her some carries in the second half.

Jeremiah Alford was 7-for-8 for 190 yards in the Central Carolina Conference mismatch and accounted for three touchdowns (two  passing, one rushing), as he added to his county records.

Mike Alford had a passing touchdown, a receiving touchdown and an interception for a pick-six, a combination which doesn’t happen all that often.

Dyzarious Carpenter (pick-six) and Nick Morrow also had interceptions.

A’son Best and Emari Russell had TD catches. Best had three catches for 85 yards.

North (5-2, 3-0) put up major rushing numbers, with KJ Oglesby getting 119 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Jo Jo Tarver had 116 yards on nine carries and scored a touchdown.

East Davidson is 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the league.

After an open week, North will finish the regular season against contending teams — West Davidson, Lexington and Salisbury.

West Davidson beat Thomasville for the first time in school history on Friday.

“That’s going to quite a stretch for us,” Sophia said.
