SPENCER — Homecoming went smoothly for North Rowan’s football team on Friday, as the Cavaliers pulverized East Davidson 60-6.

Lineman KaMahri Feamster had the best night as he was crowned homecoming king. The queen was volleyball player Allanah McCarthur. She’s also a sprinter. With a secure 46-0 halftime lead, head coach Josh Sophia could have given her some carries in the second half.

Jeremiah Alford was 9-for-11 for 195 yards in the Central Carolina Conference mismatch and accounted for four touchdowns (three passing, one rushing), as he added to county records.

Mike Alford had a passing touchdown and a receiving touchdown which doesn’t happen all that often.

A’son Best and Emari Russell had TD catches.

Another TD catch will be accounted for on Monday when North posts official stats from the game.

North (5-2, 3-0) put up major rushing numbers, with KJ Oglesby getting 119 yards and two TDs on only six carries. Jo Jo Tarver had 116 yards on nine carries and scored a touchdown.

East Davidson is 1-5 overall and 0-2 in the league.

After an open week, North will finish the regular season against contending teams — West Davidson, Lexington and Salisbury.

West Davidson beat Thomasville for the first time in school history on Friday.

“That’s going to quite a stretch for us,” Sophia said.
