CONCORD — East Rowan won 18-6 at Central Cabarrus on Thursday in South Piedmont Conference jayvee footba action.
Jaxon Lyons scored on a 27-yard run for the Mustangs (4-3) and caught an 11-yard TD pass from Julian Cauble.
Jayden Riley had a 2-yard scoring run.
East’s defense played well and forced two turnovers.
Central is 3-4.

THOMASVILLE — Kiyren Brown had two rushing TDs for Salisbury in a 30-0 win against East Davidson in Thursday JV football action.
Jordan Washington threw a touchdown pass to Isaiah Foxx and ran for three 2-point conversions for the Hornets (5-2).
Isaiah Davidson had a rushing TD.
Salisbury’s defense had five fumble recoveries.

CONCORD — West Rowan lost 42-29 at Robinson in South Piedmont Conference jayvee football action on Thursday.
Devaunh White scored three touchdowns, two rushing and one on a reception, for the Falcons (3-4).
Jalen Moten had a rushing TD. Landon Ryerson had a 2-point conversion. John Walters kicked a PAT and had a 2-point conversion.
Robinson is 5-1.

KANNAPOLIS — Ashton Chavis scored two rushing TDs for A.L. Brown in a 33-6 Greater Metro Conference win against West Cabarrus on Thursday.
AJ Settles and Lemar Grier had rushing TDs, and Jeremiah Christopher hauled in a TD pass as the Wonders (7-0) stayed undefeated.
West Cabarrus is 1-5.

CHINA GROVE — Carson put up a fight against Northwest Cabarrus in Thursday’s JV football game.
Carson head coach Jonathan Lowe explained that the Cougars were short-handed as a number of players moved up to the varsity as replacements for a players who are no longer with the team, following disciplinary action.
“We had some guys step up in a mighty way, made a valiant effort,” said Lowe, after a 12-7 setback.
Colin Masingo’s 35-yard TD pass to Konnor Karriker provided Carson’s touchdown.
Logan Delk led the defensive effort for the Cougars (3-3) with an interception and a forced fumble. Easton Feehan made the recovery.
Ra’jon Howell, Julian Myers, Landon Shoemaker played well on both lines, and Carson got a big effort from Layton Monteith as a fullback and linebacker.
Northwest is 5-2.

SPENCER — Thomasville won 22-2 at North Rowan.
Zane Smith played well on defense for the Cavaliers (1-4).
Thomasville (4-2) and North were able to make up a game that was postponed during a rough weather period.
This is North’s open week. and Thomasville plays South Davidson, which doesn’t have a jayvee team.

CONCORD — Brooks Hunter’s touchdown pass to Jayden Arthur was the only score for South Rowan (1-5) in a 12-6 loss to Concord (2-5) on Thursday.
Kole Kinley had an interception. Landon Barnhardt had a big game for South’s defense.
