Carolina Artists guild to host line art and ink painting workshop with Clyde

The Carolina Artists guild will be offering a fun, creative and interactive mini-workshop at its meeting on Thursday, Oct. 17, at St. John’s Lutheran Church (use 100 North Jackson Street entrance) in Salisbury. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. for for meeting and refreshments. The program start at 7 p.m. Guests are welcome, and the meeting is free to attend.

The October mini-workshop will be on line art and ink painting with local artist Clyde, followed with a spooky, fun and family friendly surprise. Attendees are requested to bring your favorite brushes and white and black acrylic paint. Some supplies will be available so everyone will be welcome to participate.

Clyde is a founding member of Carolina Artists, an icon in the Salisbury arts community and an accomplished artist in this area and far beyond. His free-flowing and fun artistic style creates his own unique and original artwork.

This mini-workshop is for all painting levels, beginner to advanced.

The Carolina Artists guild is dedicated to art education and welcomes guest artists several times during the year for special workshops. The guild will be offering a fall painting experience with N.C. American Impressionist artist Craig Richards on Oct. 18-19. The workshop will offer painting Plein Air in studio and on location. The Carolina Artists exhibited a wide variety of artwork at The OctoberTour at Hurley Park and included a successful fundraiser for hurricane victims in western N.C. Members donated artwork that was offered for sale with 100 percent of the proceeds being donated.

This year has been busy for The Carolina Artists and members plan to end the year by supporting and participating in Winterfest on Dec. 6-8. Art will be available for purchase.  Members will also be working with young artists by providing a Paint A Snowman project. Face painting will also be provided.
