High school cross country: Salisbury boys 3rd in CCC

DENTON — Salisbury’s boys cross country team had two All-Central Carolina Conference runners and finished third in the team scoring in the conference championship meet held at Denton FarmPark on Tuesday.
South Davidson’s boys, led by individual champ Jayden Flannery, who clocked 16:59, won the team championship.
East Davidson was second, with the Hornets third, West Davidson fourth and Lexington fifth.
West Davidson’s Ayden Brown was second in 17:04.
Samuel Fatovic led the Hornets with a fourth-place finish in 17:11.
Salisbury soccer player Finnegan Avery ran 18:50 for 12th place and also made all-conference.
AJ Jarrell was 19th. Henry Austin was 21st. David Shankle was 22nd. Jeremiah Davidson was 23rd.

East Davidson’s Ibelka Peralta was the girls individual champion in 21:25 and led the Golden Eagles to the team championship.
Led by runner-up Madyson York, West Davidson was second, with Lexington third and South Davidson fourth.
Salisbury only had one runner. Freshman Gabriella Fatovic was sixth in 22:57 and made all-conference.
