Don’t forget notables that were absent

In the article about the 70th anniversary of Boyden High School, two prominent members were not there. One was Elizabeth Hanford Dole, who was a U.S. Senator as well as served in cabinet positions. The other was Betty Dan Nicholas Spencer whose dad gave the land to Rowan County which is Dan Nicholas Park. Wyndham Robertson was president of Hollins University and signed my daughters diploma when she graduated. She is Julian Robertson’s sister and skipped the fourth grade at Frank B. John school.

Choose $2 gasoline for life

Six years ago gasoline was near $3 per gallon and we consumers were wondering why so high!

Then President Trump too was fed up with vehicles’ fuel prices. It was edging upward with a “promise” by oil suppliers from several countries (think OPEC) could control the price because we thirsted for that black goo that spun into gasoline/diesel. Mr. Trump said America is better than that so he took action to stabilize these fuels prices in a sensible price, say $2/gallon.

How do?

Drill for oil where known within USA territory including off-shore.

One known area was USA’s north-central. But that oil was wanting for processing into desired fuels. Refineries were in south USA.

Keystone Pipeline was born! It would connect oil lying asleep in northern fields and pump it southward. This would help Americans in at least two ways: allowed less expensive crude oil available from USA fields, thence cheaper gasoline/diesel (that’s us, folks) and not necessitating import crude oil. Their prices are ofttimes sky high prices caused by Middle East wars, so Mr. Trump felt best for USA to use its own oil. Thus, he used an executive edict to put the Keystone Project in action.

Tilt! Mr. Biden/Veep Harris elected; Mr. Trump was out. Biden’s administration fearing cars/trucks bad for climate, so Biden’s executive edict canceled Keystone’s permit. Gasoline price went from $2/gallon (Trump) to $3.29 I/we paid!

Mr. Trump vowed to be “dictator” for his first day back to White House when he signs his executive edict reopening Keystone permits to complete the pipeline, solving the fuel problem!

August 2024, Mr. Trump told crowd, ”You need to vote for me and America even if you don’t like me!”

I am with Trump, the problem solver!
