SALISBURY — The Salisbury-Rowan Choral Society has invited the public to view the 2024 fall concert “Fall Into Healing” during the first weekend in November.

“Fall Into Healing” celebrates the experiences of fall with music that reminds the audience of reasons to love fall. Directed by Emily Copeland, the concert will feature music of patriotism and fall events such as football, mountain scenes and Halloween, leading up to the winter holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas.

The concert will be presented twice on Friday, Nov. 1, at 7 p.m. at Milford Hills United Methodist Church, 1600 Statesville Blvd., Salisbury, and then on Saturday, Nov. 2 at 4 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church, 3020 Grace Church Rd., Salisbury.

The program begins with the patriotic tune “God Bless America” by Irving Berlin. Experience football game day in “Football Frenzy” and humorous Halloween selections: “I Put a Spell on You” from Hocus Pocus and “The Time Warp” from The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Be inspired by Harriet Monroe’s poem “The Blue Ridge” set to music by Elaine Hagenberg. Remember the fall mountain beauty in “Blow Winds of Fall” and encouragement in “I Will Lift up Mine Eyes” by Leo Sowerby.

After a few surprise tunes, the program will conclude with the lively spiritual “Praise His Holy Name” by Keith Hampton.

The Salisbury-Rowan Choral Society is funded by the First United Church of Christ Foundation, the Rowan Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council, patrons and audience.
