Police looking into attempted ATM break-in

Police are trying to determine who attempted to break into a Bank of America automated teller machine located near the West End Plaza (formerly Salisbury Mall), leaving $300 worth of damage behind.
Salisbury Police responded to an alarm at the ATM, located in the 2000 block of Statesville Boulevard, Sunday around 4:15 a.m., but nothing was taken.
A report said a lock on the front cover was bent, a plastic cover near the receipt receptacle was ripped off and the back door was ajar. Police investigators also said several wires were cut.

• A woman reported Sunday she was scammed by her apartment manager from March 28 to Friday in the 500 block Admiral Drive.
• A woman left her wallet Sunday at the doctor’s office and $260 was missing when she returned to pick it up in the 600 block of Mocksville Avenue.
• A man reported Sunday a larceny from a vehicle in the 1000 block Crane Creek Road.
• Jerry’s Shell station reported Sunday a larceny in the 600 block of West Jake Alexander Boulevard.
• A woman reported Sunday an assault occurred in the 2200 block of Statesville Boulevard.
• A man reported Tuesday a theft of his vehicle occurred the day before in the 1100 block of Kenly Street.
• A man reported Tuesday someone took items from his vehicle in the 1300 block of Sidney Drive.
• Makenzie Annette Stephens, 18, was charged with misdemeanor simple assault in the 2000 block of Statesville Boulevard.
• Trent Owen, 19, was charged with misdemeanor assault on a female in the 2000 block of Statesville Boulevard.
• David Lynn Stewart, 26, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor larceny in the 200 block of Faith Road.
• Stacy Evette Butler Herndon, 43, was charged Sunday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 800 block of North Lee Street.
• Joshua Thomas Veale, 21, was charged Saturday with misdemeanor carrying a concealed weapon in the 800 block of West Innes Street.

• A woman reported Thursday someone cut the lock on her outbuilding in the 2300 block of Grace Church Road.
• A man reported Thursday his golf clubs were stolen sometime between April 29 to Thursday in the 100 block of Brookshire Drive.
• A woman reported her child bit her on the arm and pushed her in the 100 block of Birchwood Drive.
• Jonathan Todd Trexler, 45, was charged Thursday with habitual felon at the Rowan County Detention Center.
• Dawn Tucker Stratton, 57, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor larceny in the 4100 block of Goodman Lake Road.
• Augustt Blane Orbison, 16, was charged Thursday with misdemeanor simple assault in the 17100 block of Mooresville Road, Mooresville.
• Allen James Scrip, 22, was charged Thursday with felony failure to report new address sex offender at the Rowan County Detention Center.
• Reginal Antonio Jones, 37, was charged Thursday with felony failure to register as a sex offender at the Rowan County Detention Center.
