Five join Kannapolis police department

KANNAPOLIS — Five new police officers including one graduate from South Rowan High School have joined the Kannapolis Police Department.
The South Rowan graduate Chase Faine joins Edward Mena, Brandon Shue, Dominic Pillo and Jordan Young as the newest members on the Kannapolis force.
All of them have been assigned to patrol squads and will receive additional training by experienced police officer mentors. Faine, Shue, Mena and Young all graduated from Basic Law Enforcement Training at Rowan Cabarrus Community College. Pillo completed Basic Law Enforcement Training at Mitchell Community College.
Faine also graduated from Appalachian State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in computer science. He is married to My Linh Thi Nguyen (Emilyn Faine) and the son of William and Alicia Faine of Salisbury.
Mena is a graduate of New Utrecht High School in Brooklyn, New York. He is the son of Luis and Maria Medina of Staten Island, New York.
Shue is a graduate of Concord High School. He is the son of Randy and Gail Shue of Concord.
Pillo is a graduate of William Amos Hough High School and served two years in the U.S. Army. He is the son of Tammy Poler of Cornelius and Sean Pillo of Huntersville.
Young is a graduate of Mount Pleasant High School and Appalachian State University where she earned a bachelor’s degree in recreation management. Prior to attending BLET, Jordan was employed with the KPD as one of the city’s first park rangers. She is the daughter of Jeff and Tamie Young of Concord.
