Rowan County Sheriff’s Office reports

A larceny from a motor vehicle on Mt. Moriah Church Road, China Grove reportedly occurred between noon and 4 p.m Nov. 10. It was reported Nov. 13.

Arson of a motor vehicle on Safrit Road was reported at 5:25 p.m. Nov. 13. An arrest in the case is pending.

Arson at an abandoned house on Cooper Road reportedly occurred between 5 and 7:18 p.m. Nov. 13. Deputies said the homeowner reported they had run teenagers off repeatedly including that afternoon, and that the house has been abandoned for at least 10 years. Reports indicate investigators found numerous miscellaneous items had been set on fire, but no sign of accelerant.

Kyle Andrew Wilder, 35, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with two counts of soliciting a child by computer.

Monica Jean Brown, 41, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with simple assault.

Mark Anthony Willis Jr., 46, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with assault on a female.

Roger Lee Hampton Jr., 34, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with habitual felon.

Johnny Allen Steward, 38, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with felony possession of schedule I controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Tommie Raynard Ferrens, 35, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with obtaining property by false pretenses and forgery of instrument.

Andre Lyonel Leon, 24, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with forgery of instrument and obtaining property by false pretenses.

Charles Tomas Gillam, 28, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged with possession of schedule I controlled substance and maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substance.

Elaine Marie Hughes, 56, was arrested Nov. 13 and charged as accessory after the fact.
