Salisbury City Council Preview: Rail Walk project, new fire station on tap for discussion

When the Salisbury City Council convenes on Tuesday, it will consider a few items of note.

Planning and Neighborhoods Director Hannah Jacobson will present a resolution of support for the city’s participation in the Our State, Our Homes Program.

The council will consider sidewalk improvements as part of the Rail Walk project with Rowan County Tourism at a cost of $55,000 using General Fund savings to pay for the project. Downtown Development Director Sada Troutman will present on that topic.

Salisbury Fire Chief Bob Parnell will present information to the council about bay doors for Fire Station 3, located at 150 Mahaley Avenue, that may require council approval due to manufacturer schedules.

The Salisbury City Council meets on Tuesday at 6 p.m. in town hall, located at 217 S. Main St., Salisbury.
