Investigators have arrested a man in connection with a truck fire on Safrit Road that was reported just before 5:30 p.m. Nov. 13.

On arrival, firefighters found a truck with its cab fully involved with fire that had also spread to the roof of a carport. Firefighters called deputies from the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office to assist in the investigation. Investigators gathered evidence that pointed toward Jeffrey Lynn Kee, 44.

Kee was known to the victim, according to reports from deputies, and witnesses saw him in the area around the time of the fire.

A search warrant of Kee’s home and property was executed Nov. 15, and more evidence was uncovered connecting Kee to the arson. He was arrested the same day and charged with burning personal property and breaking and entering.  He was given a $25,000 secured bond and a court date of Nov. 18.
