College women’s basketball: Livingstone loses 2 weekend games in Georgia

DAHLONEGA, Ga. — Livingstone College’s women’s basketball team lost games to Peach Belt Conference teams on Friday and Saturday at the University of North Georgia.
Livingstone played both games without leading scorer and rebounder Morgan Kelson. The Blue Bears lost to North Georgia 70-55 on Friday and fell to Clayton State 81-71 on Saturday. North Georgia stayed undefeated. Clayton State picked up its first win.
Bria Griffith led the Blue Bears (0-4) on Friday with 16 points. Ny’Asia Green made three 3-pointers and scored 11. Thalia Carter added 10.
Livingstone was down two going to the fourth quarter, but the Nighthawks pulled away. The Blue Bears couldn’t overcome 29-poercent shooting.

Livingstone shot much better against Clayton State – 44 percent — but Clayton State shot 51 percent.
Jasiyah Crawford came off the bench to lead Livingstone with 23 points in 24 minutes on 9-for-15 shooting.
Carter scored 13 points. Griffith and Breasia Coit scored 10 each.
