This year has been particularly difficult for our children in N.C. due to flooding and a local fire at Isenberg Elementary School. BrickEd Academy for Learning has focused on giving back to help put smiles on the faces of children in our area.
BrickEd partnered with The Children’s Hope Alliance of Western NC and the Salisbury Civitan Club to send 100 Lego kits to children impacted by Flood Helene. For the months of October-December, 50 percent of admission for those coming in on Saturdays to play is designed to the sponsorship of kits and the first 50 kits are being sent before Thanksgiving for distribution.
The Civitan Club of Salisbury is matching the donation so that we can send 50 additional kits between Nov. 25 and Dec. 25. If you want to support the effort stop by and purchase a play pass one of the next three Saturdays.
The students at Isenberg Elementary were displaced from school during a recent fire. The staff at BrickEd offered Isenberg students an opportunity to continue their learning through camp days that supported learning through creative play. Those that participated had a blast doing Lego Robotics, storytelling with the brick and Brick Math.
While they were not in the actual school building, learning continued onward.
The students were also supported for eLearning from BrickEd Academy staff as they worked on assignments provided by their teachers.
“Supporting students is key part of our operation at BrickEd Academy, and we are so happy to assist students in N.C. in any way we can during this difficult time,” said Dr. Shirley Disseler, BrickEd & More CEO.
