WISE, Va. — Catawba’s men’s basketball team won 82-78 at UVA Wise on Tuesday in South Atlantic Conference action.
It wasn’t a typical SAC road game for the Indians with a holiday approaching and students headed for home. Attendance was 155, so UVA Wise’ home-court advantage was limited.
Nick Walker put together an 18/10 double-double to lead the Indians. Montraivis White scored 11, and as is usually the case, the Indians contributed to the scorebook by committee.
Freshman Chase Daniel had another stellar stat line off the bench with nine points, four assists and three steals, with zero turnovers.
Catawba (4-2, 2-1) led 38-30 at halftime.
The Indians made 21 of 28 free throws, won the turnover battle 22-13 and had a 14-8 edge in offensive boards.
Bradley Dean, the top player for UVA Wise, got 10 of his 21 points from the foul line and was limited to one 3-pointer.
