College women’s basketball: LC loses in Florida

MIAMI SHORES, Fla. — Livingstone’s women’s basketball team played well against Lynn on Friday but lost 87-74.
Both teams shot 45 percent from the field, but Lynn got to the foul line a lot more (27 free throw attempts) and had small edges on the boards and in the turnover battle.
Livingstone (1-6) will win most games when it shoots 45 percent with 15 turnovers, but Lynn (4-2) got 19 points from Danielle Montelbano and scored 53 points in the second half.
Morgan Kelson played big for the Blue Bears with 19 points and 14 rebounds. Boston Bates scored 18, and Thalia Carter and Bria Griffith scored 12 each.
