SALISBURY — Arrests have been made following four armed robberies at separate Speedway convenience stores over the weekend, according to Salisbury Police.

The robberies were committed one after another, police said, on Saturday night, Nov. 30, at the following locations: 828 Jake Alexander Boulevard West, 500 East Innes Street, 3410 South Main Street and at the intersection of Jake Alexander Boulevard South and Old Concord Road.

Salisbury police, the Rowan County Sheriff’s Office (RCSO), and surrounding law enforcement agencies collaborated to make the arrests.

Patrol officers quickly responded to each scene, gathering critical video footage and other evidence. They also developed a detailed description of the suspects and their vehicle, a red Ford Explorer, which was shared with surrounding agencies. Shortly thereafter, RCSO deputies identified the suspect vehicle on I-85 and initiated a pursuit, culminating in the arrest of all three occupants.

The three arrested are:

Sidney Wayne Williams, 40, charged with multiple counts of armed robbery and strong-armed robbery; Diovany Philistin, 53, charged with conspiracy to commit robbery and accessory after the fact; and Tina Miller, 36, charged with drug-related offenses.

The RCSO recovered an undisclosed amount of cash from the suspect vehicle, which detectives believe was stolen during the robbery series. While no firearm has been located, the vehicle has been impounded and will undergo further examination by SPD investigators.

“These arrests underscore the outstanding teamwork and dedication of our officers and partnering agencies, said Salisbury Police Chief PJ Smith. “Our patrol officers acted swiftly to secure evidence and alert neighboring jurisdictions, which directly led to the capture of these suspects.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and the SPD and the RCSO are expected to file additional charges. Anyone with further information about these incidents is encouraged to contact the Salisbury Police Department at 704-638-5333 or provide tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers at 866-639-5245.
