SALISBURY — Police have confirmed that one man has died following a crash on Rowan Mill Road Saturday night about 7:30 p.m. near Foxfire Drive.

Family members confirmed that Fredy Garcia, 54, was killed in the crash that involved a pick up truck and a Honda. A witness described the incident “as if the truck got on top of the car,” pushing the car off the road.

“He was a devoted father of two daughters, Cassady and Kiara,” said Joselline Garcia, a family member. “He was the kind of person that would always give you a hand in times of need and go beyond to show you he cared. His family and friends loved him so much, as he was kind and special. He was making changes in his life to get closer to God. We had just gotten out of church, and knowing our merciful Father, we have faith that we will see Fredy again.”

Police have not released any further details at this time including if there will be any charges. This is a developing story and we will update with more information as it is released.
