SALISBURY — A Salisbury man is a little richer after striking gold with a lottery jackpot.

Frederick Goss of Salisbury took a chance on a Fast Play ticket on Monday and won a $383,181 jackpot.

Goss bought his lucky $10 Break the Bank ticket from Han-Dee Hugo’s on East Innes Street in Salisbury. At the time of his purchase, the jackpot stood at $383,181. Since Goss bought a $10 ticket, he received 100 percent of the progressive jackpot.

He arrived at lottery headquarters on Wednesday to collect his prize and, after required state and federal tax withholdings, took home $273,977.

Fast Play features an instantly growing jackpot that increases with every ticket sold until it is won. As of Wednesday afternoon, the Fast Play jackpot stands at $34,000 and counting.
