Renee Scheidt: Unanswered questions

The recent terrorist attack in New Orleans was of special interest to me since that was my home for almost 15 years. I’ve been at the spot on the edge of the French Quarter where Canal and Bourbon streets intersect. Watching video clips of a deranged man turning his truck into the crowd, killing and injuring innocent people, is chilling.
Amid such evil, one man stands tall. U.S. Senator John F. Kennedy told the media, “We will get to the truth.” That’s good news since the government has a history of only telling us what they want us to know, hoping if they wait long enough, we’ll forget about it. They can then remain unaccountable to the American people.
I was shocked years ago to learn our government not only withholds key information from us but also actively feeds us misinformation (commonly called “lies”). They leak bits and pieces of stories and make complete fabrications they hope we’ll accept, intentionally working to deceive us. Just look at what they did with the JFK murder.
Initially, I didn’t want to believe this could be true in the good ol’ USA. That’s not supposed to happen here. That’s what happens in Communist countries and Banana Republics. But as hard as I fought to reject the evidence before my eyes, I could not deny the facts. “Truth is not what you want it to be, it is what it is. And you must bend to its power or live a lie” (Miyamoto Musashi). After getting over my initial resistance, there was no question as to what would be my choice. I could handle the truth, ugly as it sometimes was.
As I observed Senator Kennedy’s determination to get to the bottom of this latest attack, I couldn’t help but wonder, “Why have so many other issues remained unanswered? What conjured-up tales have been fed to us to hide the facts?” Thinking about this led me to do a little research.
By now, it is a known fact that Oswalt was not a lone gunman in the assassination of President JFK. Yet 60 years later, both Trump and Biden have withheld certain records because the information is so damning.
Under Biden’s reign, we still wonder who left their cocaine in the White House in July 2023. We’re told there isn’t enough forensic evidence for the FBI to solve this crime. The case was closed after 11 days. How convenient.
Six months ago, the near murder of President Trump still has more questions than answers. The FBI has given no motive for Thomas Crooks’ actions. To this day, we’re told the FBI can’t open Crooks’ encrypted phones. Although he had been spotted and reported to officials before Trump stepped onto the stage, no one thought it was important enough to tell the president that a young guy with a range finder was walking the grounds. Many basic security measures were lacking that day. Is the Secret Service really that inept? Many of us question how this could be.
A report was recently released regarding the riot of Jan. 6, 2021. Prior to this report, FBI Head Christopher Wray refused to answer Congressman Higgins when asked if there were “confidential human sources embedded in the J6 crowd.” The report 4 years later establishes that there were at least 26. A number of other situations still exist where the given information doesn’t align. We still want answers.
The mystery of the J6 pipe bombs placed outside the DNC and RNC buildings remains unsolved. According to a new report, 4 years later there are still no suspects, even though there is footage of the person placing the bomb at the DNC. Strangely, the J6 Committee chose to overlook the pipe bombs’ existence along with many other security failures. Congressman Loudermilk said, “Today’s report highlights why the American people still deserve the full truth.”
Taxpayers have a right to know the truth. To withhold it is wrong. It’s time all Congress demands answers as LA Senator Kennedy is doing in New Orleans. If truth sets us free, it must be given to us. Why keep us in the dark if they have nothing to hide?
