HUNTERSVILLE — A tough night for South Rowan’s boys basketball team included four straight single-digit quarters at Lake Norman Charter.
The Knights led 42-15 at halftime and rolled 78-27 in South Piedmont Conference action.
Major Leak led the Knights (4-8, 3-5) with 17 points. Lake Norman Charter is in sixth place in the SPC.

CONCORD — Robinson stayed on top in the South Piedmont Conference with a physical 80-32 victory against East Rowan.
Robinson (14-2, 8-0) didn’t have to make a lot of outside shots. The Bulldogs created easy offense with steals and layups off a relentless press and by crashing the offensive boards in a loosely officiated contest.
Older, bigger, stronger and faster, Robinson led all the way and held East to single digits in every quarter.
Logan Bradley scored East’s first two buckets. When Brody Thomas scored in the lane, the Mustangs (1-13, 1-7) were down 7-6 almost six minutes into the game, but Robinson went on a 10-1 burst to lead 17-7 at the end of the quarter.
When Robinson began the second quarter with a 10-0 run to 27-7, it was all over.
Jaden Reid made a three-point play to end a long East drought.
It was 44-15 at halftime. East didn’t make a 3-pointer in the first half.
Bradley made two 3-pointers late in the game and scored 10 to lead East. Corbin Krider got six of his eight points at the foul line. Thomas, East’s leading scorer for the season, was held to five, including a 3-pointer in the third quarter.
East is 57th out of 59 teams in the 2A West RPI rankings. Montgomery Central is 58th. South Rowan is 59th.
East is home against North Rowan on Thursday.
East Rowan 7 8 9 8 — 32
Robinson 17 27 26 10 — 80
EAST scoring — Bradley 10, Krider 8, Thomas 5, Reid 5, Shive 3, Ailshie 1.

KANNAPOLIS — Lake Norman has two Division I recruits and is at the top of the 4A West RPI rankings.
A.L. Brown won’t argue with that.
The Wildcats (14-1, 3-0) led all the way. They scored 32 points in the first quarter, led 59-20 at the half, and routed the Wonders 82-45 in a Greater Metro Conference game.
The Wonders (3-12, 0-4) are ahead of only two teams in the 4A West RPI rankings. They’ll try to get back on track on Thursday against South Iredell.
