HARTSVILLE, S.C. — Coker’s women’s basketball team, ranked 16th in Division II, survived Catawba’s visit on Wednesday.

The Cobras won the South Atlantic Conference game 58-50 despite shooting 31 percent on their home floor at the DeLoach Center.

Coker won by making 22 of 25 foul shots and by holding Catawba to three points … yes, three — in the third quarter. The Indians made one shot in 10 minutes.

Catawba led 24-21 at halftime, but Coker opened the second half with a 9-0 run to take charge of the game. Catawba was outscored 17-3 in the quarter. The Cobras rolled from there and would lead by as many as 15 points.

Janiya Foskey had 17 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Indians, but she was the only one in double figures.

Catawba (9-7, 7-5) shot 33 percent.
