Local candidates involved in the July 17 second primary will field questions during a candidate forum 6 p.m. Tuesday at Carson High School near China Grove.
Dr. Michael Bitzer of Catawba College will moderate the forum and will use some questions from readers of the Salisbury Post.
Catawba, the Post and the Rowan County Chamber of Commerce are sponsoring the event.
Republicans Richard Hudson and Scott Keadle will be featured in one portion of the forum. They are vying for the Republican nomination to challenge Democrat Larry Kissell’s bid to be re-elected as North Carolina’s 8th District representative in the U.S. House.
Six candidates for the Rowan County Board of Commissioners will be in the other portion of the forum. They include Republicans Gus Andrews, Gene Miller, Mike Caskey and Craig Pierce, all vying for two spots. Democrat candidates are Corey Hill and Ralph Walton, vying for one spot.
The forum is free and open to the public.
