Fries ~ Smith
MOUNT PLEASANT — Rachel Claire Fries of Rockwell and William Patrick Smith of Salisbury were united in marriage Sunday, May 27, 2012, at The Saratoga Springs. Pastor Mike Shoaf officiated the 6:00 evening ceremony, which was followed by a reception, also at The Saratoga Springs.
The bride was escorted by her step-father, Mr. Randy Bingham. Cousin of the bride Charlotte Brown of Rockwell was the maid of honor. Serving as bridesmaids were cousins of the bride Whitney Adams of Concord and Paige Huss of China Grove; Brittany Goodman of Rockwell; Jesse Clark and Erin Ketner, both of Salisbury. Flower girls were cousins of the groom Gabby and Emma Eubanks of Mechanicsville, Va.
Bill Smith stood as his son’s best man. Serving as groomsmen were Bryan Jones of Arapahoe; Adam Carswell of Morganton; Winston Horton, Jacob Knox and Peter Allen, all of Salisbury. Ring bearer was nephew of the groom Carson Owen of Mount Ulla.
The bride is the daughter of Randy and Janet Bingham of Rockwell and Todd Fries of Gold Hill. She is the granddaughter of Wayne Morgan and Peggy Cranford, Terry and Sheila Fries and the late Susan Morgan, all of Salisbury. Rachel graduated from East Rowan High School in 2008 and Catawba College in May 2012, with a degree in Elementary Education. She has accepted a position with the Rowan-Salisbury School System.
Patrick is the son of Bill and Pat Smith of Salisbury. He is the grandson of Lorene and the late C.P. Barringer and the late William and Bobbie Jean Smith, all of Salisbury. A 2004 graduate of West Rowan High School, Patrick graduated from North Carolina State University in 2007 with a degree in horticulture. He is self-employed with Bingham Smith Lumber.
Following a wedding trip to Punta Cana, Dominican Republic, the couple are making their home in Salisbury.
