Fibrant to add upgrades July 16-Aug. 3

The city of Salisbury’s Fibrant service will be upgrading its infrastructure beginning Monday, July 16, and concluding Friday, Aug. 3. The upgrades will take place from midnight-6 a.m. during this period, with the exception of weekends, when work will be suspended.
Salisbury’s Fibrant network needs certain upgrades to maintain the level of service it provides. This round of upgrades will include adding enhanced equipment and a second internet circuit for redundancy. These upgrades will allow Fibrant to continue to seek a 99.999 percent reliability rating and provide superior service to customers.
This maintenance has been planned over the last several months and will be conducted in the most efficient way possible as to limit the amount of interrupted service. Fibrant feels the maintenance time frame and suspending maintenance on weekends will have the smallest impact on service.
Fibrant has more than 1,700 customers and provides internet, television and phone services for residents and businesses within the Salisbury city limits. Fibrant uses 100 percent fiber optics.
