Salisbury-Rowan’s annual Krazy Night Out is tomorrow, July 20, from 5 to 9 p.m.
There will be live music on the East Innes Street Stage with Big Break, featuring David Myers, from 6-9 p.m.
Other live music downtown includes progressive Celtic-world-folk-fusion by Gael Warning at The Blue Vine, 209 S. Main at 9 p.m.; Southern Connection at Penny Pinchers, 218 S. Main; and Nifty Noize at the Visitors Center, 204 E. Innes.
Check out the classic cars in the Farmers Market lot, load the family on the trolley for a free spin around town or see if you can find all 14 sculptures in the annual Salisbury Sculpture Show.
Other available activities include the rhythms of the Drum Circle on Easy Street starting at 7:30 p.m., horse drawn carriage rides that offer a unique view of historic downtown, the popular Downtown Ghost Walk, and fun for the children at The Kids’ Zone on E. Fisher St. with moonbounces, kids’ jousting and archery with the Knightly Order of the Fiat Lux.
Piedmont Players Theatre’s youth musical “13” continues its run at the Norvell Theater, 135 E. Fisher St.
Downtown stores will offer extended hours, storewide sales, kool deals, free refreshments, door prizes, drawings, and more as part of the Salisbury Post’s three-day Krazy Klearance Sidewalk Sale, July 19-21.
Downtown Ghost Walk
The popular tour is once again part of Friday Night Out downtown, July 20, beginning at 8 p.m. It is $10 for adults, $5 for students, and kids 5 and under are free. Meet on the steps of the old Salisbury Post Office, 130 W. Dance theatre presents ‘Pirates’
KANNAPOLIS — Piedmont Dance Theatre performs their original ballet “Pirates” on Saturday, July 21 at 7 p.m. at the Village Park Amphitheater. This event is sponsored by Kannapolis Parks and Recreation, and admission is free.
“Pirates” is an all-ages appropriate ballet filled with humor, outstanding technique, epic battles and bold acting. Children will have the opportunity to meet cast members and pose for photographs following the performance.
This year’s production has a cast of 43 and includes dancers from Piedmont School of Music and Dance age 6-18. Guest artist Samuel Alan Chester stars as Jack Rackham.
This is Piedmont Dance Theatre’s second performance, choreographed by co-owners Rebecca and Daniel Wiley and former student Alana Isiguen.

Concert on the Square

Music Theatre Camp
There are still a few openings in Music Theatre Camp for kids, to be held at the Looking Glass Artists Center, located at 405 N. Lee St.
From July 30-Aug. 3, 8:30 a.m.-4:30 p.m., the 8-12 year-old participants in Music Theater Camp will put together a show in just one week, with the performance set for 5:30 p.m. on Aug. 3.

The July Shaker’s Dance will be held on Friday July 20, from 7-9- p.m. at the Salisbury City Park recreation center.

A night of improv
Looking Glass Artists Center brings comedy to the black box theater in an “Evening of Improv Comedy,” starring Charlotte Comedy Theater.
For one night only, Friday July 27, the best comedians and improvisers in the area will perform in Salisbury. Doors open at 7:30, the show begins at 8 p.m.
Charlotte Comedy Theater is Charlotte’s premiere improv comedy theater featuring high energy, interactive improv comedy shows, workshops and classes, and was voted best comedy ensemble in 2012 by Charlotte Magazine.
Leading the festivities is a fantastic cast of players from Charlotte along with local Salisbury talent Drea Leonetti, John Cochrane, Rachel Lock, Cale Evans and more.
Admission is $10. Drinks will be available. No advance reservations, so come early . Looking Glass Artists Center is located at 405 N. Lee St., at the corner of Kerr.
Symphony auditions
The Salisbury-Rowan Symphony Society will hold auditions for musicians who want to be on the orchestra’s substitute list. Music Director David Hagy will hear auditions on Saturday, Aug. 18 on the campus of Catawba College in Salisbury.
Wind and percussion auditionees will be asked to play a prepared piece of their choice plus five standard excerpts for their instrument. String players need to prepare their part in Brahms’ Fourth Symphony and the first and third movements of Beethoven’s Third Symphony. All musicians will be asked to sight-read.
