A severe storm warning is in effect for the Salisbury and Granite Quarry areas until 6:30 p.m.
The National Weather Service says a storm in southeastern Davie County is moving into central Rowan County. 
Radar indicated quarter-size hail and damaging winds are possible. The storm moving northeast at 15 miles an hour.
Earlier today, heavy rain is blamed for a partial roof collapse at SouthPark Mall in Charlotte, The Charlotte Observer reported.
