Businesses coming to downtown Salisbury

SALISBURY — Business owners and developers have several unique projects either up and running or on the drawing board in Salisbury, including restaurants, retail stores, a smoke shop and microbrewery.
Verizon and Growing Pains are moving to new locations, and Peanut Doodles will close its downtown store and move to the web.
The Perfect Smoke opened Thursday at 213 S. Lee St., and the new owners of the old Sweetest Thing plan a restaurant featuring Cajun cuisine for breakfast and lunch.
A major renovation project has started at the Hedrick Building on North Church Street, where the owner is considering apartments, retail and office space and indoor parking.
