Granite Quarry-Faith Police look for help in adopting families for Christmas

GRANITE QUARRY — The Granite Quarry-Faith Joint Police Department, in cooperation with Granite Quarry and Faith Elementary schools, is conducting a fourth annual Adopt-A-Family for Christmas.

“We are asking for your support and with your help, we are going to provide several families in the community with toys and gifts,” Chief Mark J. Cook said.

Donation boxes marked “Adopt-A-Family” will be located at the town halls in Granite Quarry and Faith. Toys, items or gift cards can be dropped off at either location, and the gifts do not need to be wrapped.

Contributors are being asked to mark their donations, to indicate which child the item is for.

“We will have several elves assisting us in wrapping the gifts,” Cook said.

Gifts will be collected through Dec. 22.

Here is information on the children of one family:

7-year-old female: clothes size 8-9 (slim in pants); shoe size, 2.

5-year-old female: clothes size 6; shoe size, 12 toddler.

2-year-old female: clothes size 3t; shoe size, 7 toddler.

The children in the above family enjoy “Monster High,” “Doc McStuffins,” “Lalaloopsy,” makeup and nail polish and “Frozen”-themed items.

Here is information on children of a second family:

5-year-old male: clothes size — 6 pants, medium shirt; shoe size, 10.

3-year-old female: clothes size —  24 month; shoe size, 7.

Both families are single-parent households and could benefit from any contribution you may wish to provide.
