SALISBURY — A scooter was found Wednesday after police said two men robbed a 14-year-old girl.
Salisbury Police said the two approached the girl, who was riding the motorized scooter on the sidewalk near North Green Street about 6 p.m.
One of the men grabbed the handbrake to keep the girl from driving away and authorities said they asked the girl if she smoked pot.
The girl said she did not and they asked her to let them ride the scooter.
When she declined, one man reached into his pants pocket and said he had a gun and that he had killed people in New York.
The two left with the scooter and the girl ran to her grandmother’s house nearby.
The scooter was found by a relative later Wednesday near the intersection of North Clay and East Lafayette streets.
A witness told officers he saw the girl riding the scooter earlier that day and later saw a man with a white tank top riding it.
Police said the investigation is ongoing and officers are asking for help in identifying the robbers.
One man was described as a black male, about 20 years old, wearing a black T-shirt with gray sweat pants and white tennis shoes.
He had straight hair that was pulled up into a bun and he had five stars tattooed on his arm.
He is also believed to have had neck and face tattoos, and spoke with an accent.
The second man was described as a black male with short hair, wearing a white tank top, blue jeans and red suspenders.
He also had red tennis shoes and is believed to have had tattoos on his face and neck.
