HICKORY (AP) — A cable television show taking bids on the North Carolina site where “The Hunger Games’ was filmed has failed to turn up a buyer.
The Hickory Daily Record reports that the SyFy Channel’s “Hollywood Treasure” and host Joe Maddalena were taking bids on the property and expected to open those bids last week.
Minda Gowen, a publicist for Maddalena and his business Profiles in History, said “The Hunger Games” property did not find a buyer during the 90-day period that Maddalena had the option to sell it.
Henry River Mill Village owner Wade Shepherd allowed the SyFy show to film on the property and allowed the silent auction for the property. Shepherd said the 72-acre village is still up for sale and he’s still asking $1.4 million for it.
