The fifth annual Tomato Trot 5K Run/Walk takes place at Unity Presbyterian Church on Friday at 7:45 p.m.
Both runners and walkers are welcome. The race will be run on country roads in the area, and will finish at the church.
All participants will be eligible for unique awards in 14 age groups for males and females.
All registrants get a dri-fit shirt and refreshments after the race.
Back this year is the specially made ’mater sandwich.
The race is the kickoff to the Tomato Festival, held annually at the church. Highlights of the Tomato Festival on Saturday will be a Tomato Parade, a Tomato Queen Pageant and entertainment. Unity Presbyterian is at 885 Woodleaf-Barber Road.
