As usual, there will be lots of fresh produce, plants, flowers, baked goods and locally grown meat at the market. The market is open Wednesdays and Saturdays from 8 a.m.-noon, at the Historic Southern Rail and Freight Depot, 129 Railroad St., Lexington, with free parking at either end of the depot.
First annual Historic Neighborhoods Alliance meeting Wednesday
SALISBURY — Anyone who lives in or cares about one of Salisbury’s 10 historic districts is invited to attend the first annual meeting of the Historic Neighborhoods Alliance.
The meeting will be held at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the Stokes-Snider House, 324 N. Fulton St.
The alliance is known for hosting a candidates’ forum during municipal election years and organizing the annual Buy History open house event featuring historic homes for sale.
The alliance encourages support of the revitalization of Salisbury’s historic neighborhoods and serves as an open channel of communication and education among neighborhoods.
Members also identify issues of common concern among historic neighborhoods and work to resolve them.
The organization needs support from residents and neighborhood groups and operates on the premise that what has an effect on one historic neighborhood affects them all.
