Since 1975, Historic Salisbury Foundation has worked to preserve residential, commercial and industrial buildings in Salisbury and Rowan County.
Most of these historic properties were purchased by Historic Salisbury Foundation, deed restricted to give long-term protection and resold to buyers who agreed to rehabilitate and use the buildings.
A number of the properties were stabilized or partially rehabilitated by the foundation before resale. Several properties continue to be owned and preserved by the foundation.
Here are properties the foundation helped to preserve in the Salisbury Historic District — Commercial Area; the Ellis Street Graded School District; and the Livingstone College Historic District.
