Need help providing for yourself or your family? Thirty Rowan County agencies will be on hand Saturday at the Rowan County Fairgrounds to provide information on how they can help.
The free Help Fair will be 1 to 4 p.m. at the fairgrounds on Julian Road, near Old Concord Road.
Among the services to be represented are emergency food, help with power bills, help with house payments and services for senior citizens, said a press release from event sponsor Grateful Heart Community Services.
Many agencies will have promotional items to share as well as information describing services they provide. Some of the agencies are supported through United Way.
Grateful Heart will give free food to Rowan County residents who bring a photo identification.
“Grateful Heart is sponsoring this first annual Help Fair so these agencies can partner together with good works to help meet as many of our residents’ needs as possible,” the press release said.
Grateful Heart has been providing emergency food and clothing since 2004 and is now a Feed America representative with the goal of helping to end hunger, the press release said.
The ministry partners with Second Harvest Food Bank of Metrolina to provide food for many of Grateful Heart’s events.
This event will be held in Building One at the front of the county fairgrounds. Plenty of parking will be available.
There is no charge to the public or the agencies who participate.
