Tommy and Helen Miller of Salisbury celebrated their 50th anniversary Aug. 18, 2012, at a party held in the Fellowship Hall of Milford Hills UMC hosted by their daughter and friends. Family and friends came from South Carolina, Georgia, Pennsylvania, Florida, Tennessee and North Carolina to celebrate treasured memories from these special years. The Millers were married Aug. 18, 1962, at the home of the bride’s parents in Rock Hill, S.C., by the Rev. Ray Long. Tommy retired from Cone Mill after 22 years. Helen retired from Sharonview Federal Credit Union after 17 years and later from Lions Share Federal Credit Union after 15 years. They have a daughter, Paige Yates, and two grandsons, Bryce and Tyler of Greensboro. Their son Dean died April 7, 1999, from cancer and now resides in Heaven.
