William Scott earns Eagle

As a Cub Scout, William earned the God and Me and God and Family Awards, as well as the Arrow of Light. As a Boy Scout in Troop 442, William has earned 23 merit badges. He has served as an Instructor, Assistant Quartermaster and Historian. He completed an 88-mile backpacking trek at Philmont Scout Ranch in New Mexico in 2010.
William has earned the Philmont Arrowhead, 50-Miler (Canoeing), 50-Miler (Backpacking), Mile Swim BSA, World Conservation, Philmont’s Duty to God and King’s Mountain Battlefield awards.
A 2012 graduate of Salisbury High School, William was active in the Math and Science Academy program. He plans to pursue further studies at Rowan-Cabarrus Community College, with a career goal of becoming a forest ranger.
For his Eagle Scout leadership service project, William planned, conducted fundraising and led a team of scouts and volunteers in improving the nature trail at Southeast Middle School, including installation of several observation benches at strategic points along the trail.
William is the son of Dr. Gregory and Elaine Scott of Salisbury.
