Historic Preservation Commission to hear requests

SALISBURY – The city’s Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 5:15 p.m. Thursday at City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
The agenda will include requests for the following Certificates of Appropriateness:
? 115 S. Jackson St.
Maxwell Chambers Trust and David B. Jordan request permission to remove a large oak tree located too close to the building, with the majority of the tree hanging over the building. Permission is also requested to do minor trimming on an adjoining oak.
? 321 E. Bank St.
Acey and Carol Worthy request a revision to garage plans, including enclosing an upper deck to storage room, modifying a roof for enclosure, changing the size of windows, extending a wall viewed on north and east elevations and adding opening in the north wall, changing columns on east elevation from two to three as viewed on first floor plan and removing columns on north side of the building, lowering the roof on north wall, in lieu of wood use artisan lap siding by James Hardie and adding gutters around building that includes six downspouts.
? 415 W. Marsh St.
Mary Arey requests a concrete gravel driveway designed in a gentle “S” curve similar to the walkway.
The commission will also hear a presentation on the Historic Preservation Master Plan.
