Re-elect Warren in 77th NC House
        It is not often that someone who runs for public office and wins and then decides to run for a second term actually deserves to be re-elected. Harry Warren has truly proven that he is an exception to this rule.
His work ethic, both in and outside the N.C. Legislature over the last two years, has impressed both his colleagues in the House of Representatives and the general public whom he represents.
His grasp of the issues facing all North Carolinians is nothing less than amazing. His tireless efforts to address those issues, to the betterment of all citizens, simply cannot be overlooked. His numerous town hall meetings, designed to keep everyone informed of action in the General Assembly, are unprecedented and worthy of high praise.
Harry has shown that he not only desires to represent the people of the 77th District in Rowan County, but all the people of North Carolina. I wholeheartedly support Harry Warren for a second term in the N.C. House of Representatives. I urge everyone in the 77th District of Rowan County to join me in sending Harry back to Raleigh for a second term. Let him continue the great work that he has just started.

Come back, ring
 I read with fond nostalgia the story of the young man, Adam Broyles, who unearthed a long-lost class ring – then tracked down the owner who was living in Japan at the time (Oct. 16 Salisbury Post).
I have often wondered if my own lost class ring would ever be found and make its way back to me. The ring was lost one summer evening on the beach on Plum Island, Mass., in 1987. There is a simple inscription on the inside of the gold band with the initials “T.E.O.”
I hope someday to be contacted and hear the news that I will be reunited with the keepsake, which marked the fun and trying times of being a high school student – wanting so badly a ring to commemorate it; it was the end of one chapter in my life, and the beginning of another.
I have lived many places since then, currently in Salisbury, and what a treat it would be to hear of the ring’s possible journey back to me!
The silver (gold) lining is that I have been far more careful with my college class ring. Please, readers, keep your eyes open for the NHS ’87 trinket and know that I am listed in the phone book, ready for your call!
