Salisbury Planning Board to consider zoning changes

SALISBURY – The Salisbury Planning Board will consider requested changes to the building elevations for the new Rowan Helping Ministries overnight shelter and soup kitchen when members meet at 4 p.m. Tuesday in City Hall, 217 S. Main St.
Also on Tuesday’s agenda:
• Request from St. John’s Lutheran Church to rezone about 2.75 acres from split-zoned downtown mixed-use and residential mixed-use to entirely downtown mixed-use.
The property is the church campus and the adjacent Hedrick parking lot.
• Request from Brooklyn-South Square Neighborhood Association to rezone about 8.2 acres (35 parcels) from corridor mixed-use to historic residential, urban residential and residential mixed-use, and four parcels from urban residential-12 to urban residential-8.
The property is within and adjacent to the Brooklyn-South Square Local Historic District.
