SALISBURY — Authorities are searching for a suspicious person who may have tried to abduct a 14-year-old girl.
The Rowan County Sheriff’s Office said Wednesday officers were contacted after the girl was approached in a truck by an older man.
The suspect told the girl “he wanted to tell her something,” deputies said in a press release. The man then opened his door and asked her to get in.
Rowan deputies and the North Carolina State Highway Patrol searched the area around Ted Lane.
Authorities said the man appeared around 4:30 p.m. and was last seen heading toward Old Concord Road.
The girl told deputies the man was older and skinny, with white hair and wearing glasses.
