Salisbury High School’s Stephen Mazur is this week’s athlete of the week.
Mazur has kicked three field goals this year, but the third was the biggest play of the season for the Hornets.
His field goal with 4.6 seconds left, lifted Salisbury past High Point Andrews High school with a final score of 36-35, putting the Hornets into the West 2AA finals.
Mazur has been the county’s top kicker, having scored 60 points so far.
The Hornets play South Iredell at home Friday night for the right to play for a state championship.
