Shoebox packer
Madison Reber, a third-grader at Mount Ulla Elementary School, raised $345 for Operation Christmas Child. Nov. 10 at Thyatira Presbyterian Church of Salisbury, at its Fall Bazaar. Madison had a booth at the bazaar selling hot cider, hot chocolate, Russian tea, cookies, muffins and cookie mixes to raise money to pack shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. Eight-year-old Madison says she was inspired by her Bible teacher, Faith Devenney of West Rowan Bible Teaching Association, after she showed her class a video of children receiving their shoeboxes. With the money raised, Madison was able to fully pack 15 shoeboxes, and pay for their shipping.
