CONCORD — Authorities are searching a rock quarry near U.S. 49 after receiving a tip that a person missing from Concord could be located in a pond near the quarry.

Concord Police and the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office were at the quarry this morning. Officers said a body has not yet been located, but authorities are in the first phase of the investigation.

The quarry is located near U.S. 49 and Old Charlotte Road.
