West Rowan linebacker Logan Stoodley was named Defensive Player of the Year for NPC football.

West Rowan’s Harrison Baucom was named NPC Punter of the Year.

Joining Stoodley and Baucom on the All-NPC team from West were offensive lineman Chris Hassard, defensive linemen Kiero Cuthbertson and Matthew Choi, linebacker Bubba McLaughlin, running back Daisean Reddick and QB Tyler Stamp.

East Rowan linebacker Tyler L’Hommedieu, running backs Calvin Edwards and Madison Hedrick, defensive back Donte Means, defensive linemen Austin Hill and T.J. Jefferson and QB Sam Wyrick made the All-NPC team.

Carson QB Austin McNeill, running back Brandon Sloop, receiver K.J. Pressley, offensive lineman Devon Peacock and defensive lineman Myquon Stout made All-NPC.

South Rowan players on the All-NPC team were tight end Josh Medlin, linebacker Burke Fulcher, defensive lineman Christian Neal and lineman Jacob Stubbs.

Statesville’s Tristan Mumford was named NPC Offensive Player of the Year. Statesville’s Randall Gusler was named NPC Coach of the Year. Statesville’s Jack Archibald was named NPC Kicker of the Year. Statesville’s Marquis Willis was named NPC Special Teams Player of the Year.

Other Greyhounds named All-NPC were Carlis Parker, Breon Borders, Torie Sharpe, Tyree Ward, Jacob Powell, Matt Jones, Jacob Bowman and Brevin Renwick.

North Iredell’s NPC players were Ace Holland, Jacob Queen and Garrett McCants. West Iredell’s Tyler McHargue and Preston Harrison were named All-NPC.

All-CCC football
Salisbury’s Joe Pinyan, who guided the Hornets to the league championship, was named CCC Coach of the Year for football.

Salisbury’s All-CCC players were backs Max Allen and Justin Ruffin, QB Brian Bauk, offensive linemen Parker McKeithan and Jalen Warren, punter Jon Mark Petty, lineackers Keion Adams and Clint Comadoll and defensive linemen Scott Givens and Isaiah Little.

The CCC Offensive Player of the Year was Thomasville running back Gabe Brockett. Central Davidson’s Saig Skeen was runner-up.

Thomasville linebacker Dezmond Wilson was named CCC Defensive Player of the Year.

Central’s Brad Morton was runner-up to Pinyan for coaching honors.

All-SPC football
A.L. Brown kicker Erik Amaya was named SPC Special Teams Player of the Year.

SPC Offensive Player of the year was Concord QB B.J. Beecher, while SPC Defensive Player of the Year was Concord linebacker Jerry Burk.

SPC Coach of the Year was Hickory Ridge’s Marty Paxton.

All-SPC picks from A.L. Brown were running backs Kalif Phillips, Dante Pinkston and Ricky Sherrill, offensive lineman Zeb Ritchie, tight end Jake Brandon, linebacker Kyrell Williamson and defensive linemen Tim Gallon and Shakil Gore.

Northwest Cabarrus’ All-SPC players were Jarrin Hogue, Armon Dooley, Nick Hernandez and Chris Beaty.

In boys cross country, Carson’s Kyle Gillis was the NPC Runner of the Year.

East Rowan’s Rick Roseman was named NPC Coach of the Year.

Joining Gillis on the All-NPC team were East’s Conor Honeycutt, Cal Meyers, Jason Basso, Justin Allen, Graham Lyerly, Chance Brown and Jason Troutman; Carson’s Zachary Marchinko; West Rowan’s Cody McNeely and Todd Gabriel, and South Rowan’s Angel Ruiz.

• Carson’s B.J. Collins, Ivan Hernandez and David Garcia; West Rowan’s Rodolfo Trujillo and Junior Landaverde; South Rowan’s Tony Ramirez and Luis Fierro, and East Rowan’s Salvador Sanchez made the All-NPC soccer team.

West Iredell’s Ze Yang was named NPC Player of the Year. West Iredell’s David Heintz was named NPC Coach of the Year.

• In NPC volleyball, North Iredell’s Natalie Tribble was named NPC Coach of the Year and North Iredell’s Brooke Redmond was named NPC Player of the Year.

Carson’s Michaela White, Aimee Cloninger, Allison Blackwell and Hannah Elmore were named to the All-NPC team, along with South Rowan’s Tiffany Brooks and Emma Pope.

• In NPC girls tennis, East Rowan’s Elizabeth Weaver was the NPC Player of the Year.

West Iredell’s Lee Ann Gatton was named NPC Coach of the Year.

Joining Weaver on the All-NPC team from East were Rebecca Agner, Laura Agner and Hannah Pressley. Also making All-NPC were Carson’s Kelly Dulkoski, Haylee Hepler and Sara Lentz, South Rowan’s Sara Bradley and West Rowan’s Dorothy Mauldin.

• In girls cross country, West Rowan’s Rebecca Parker was the NPC Runner of the Year and West Rowan’s Brittany Chester was the NPC Coach of the Year.

Falcons joining Parker on the All-NPC team were Josie Heglar, Hannah Allison and Sammie Brassard. Also earning spots on the All-NPC team were East’s Faith Blume, Tori Gaul, Leah Bumby and Haley Lyerly.

• Statesville’s Evelyn Stein was the NPC Player of the Year for girls golf. West Rowan’s Mary Ann Martinelli was named NPC Coach of the Year.

West Rowan’s Kayla Boley, Kelly Boley and Neely Holloway were All-NPC performers, along with East’s Emily Cleveland, Kat Marcum and Grace Stokes, and Carson’s Addison Collins.

More All-CCC
Salisbury’s Katelyn Storey was the CCC Player of the Year for girls tennis.

Joining Storey on the All-CCC team from Salisbury were Alexandra Drye, Anna Flynn, Madeline Hoskins, Sallie Kate Meyerhoeffer and Kayla Honeycutt.

Central Davidson’s Jennifer Cayer was named CCC Coach of the Year, with Salisbury’s Chris Myers runner-up.

• Salisbury’s Storey and Susannah Dixon earned spot on the All-CCC team for girls cross country.

West Davidson’s Callie Wynn was the CCC Runner of the Year. Central’s Greg Peters was named CCC Coach of the Year.

• CCC Runner of the Year for boys cross country was Central’s Derek Chavis.

Central’s Peters was named CCC Coach of the Year. Salisbury’s Todd Allen was runner-up.

• Salisbury’s Matt Parrish was named CCC Coach of the Year for boys soccer.

Salisbury’s Bobby Cardelle was runner-up for CCC Player of the Year honors to Central’s Charlie Killebrew.

Salisbury players joining Cardelle on the all-conference team were Zack Sukkasem, Brock Overcash, Spencer Dixon, Philip Simosn, Michael Brown and Clint Comadoll.

Prep wrestling
West Rowan placed fourth in the St. Stephens Invitational.

Thomas Current (113 pounds), Wood Poteat (170) and Jacob Tomlin (195) placed second. Cody Eggers (160) and Dustin Ervin (182) placed third. Dakota Goodson (126) placed fourth.

• West Rowan placed third in the jayvee tournament at St. Stephens. Andrew Jiles (185) and Ben Kluttz (145) won their weight classes.

Craig Mattison (220), Hunter Mesimer (285), Jacob Wood (195) and Joshua McSwain (126) placed second.

College soccer
Former Catawba men’s soccer standout Tim Santoro has been named head women’s soccer coach at N.C. State.

Santoro was an Honorable Mention All-America at Catawba as a senior in 1994.

Santoro had been the associate head coach at Wake Forest.

Another 1994 Catawba grad, Stephanie McCormick, is an assistant women’s basketball coach with the Wolfpack.

College hoops
Livingstone’s Jody Hill was named CIAA Newcomer of the Week. Hill had 19 points, seven rebounds and five steals against Claflin.

•Wingate men’s basketball coach Brian Good was named to the Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame Silver Anniversary team. Good set 12 records at Rossville High, including career points (1,738).

Prep basketball
A.L. Brown lost 71-59 at Lake Norman on Monday.

Tevin Stark led the Wonders (2-1) with 15 points.

Brown led at halftime 30-29, but Lake Norman’s charge in the third quarter proved decisive. Trey Warren scored 18 for the Wildcats.

• A.L. Brown’s girls lost to Lake Norman 39-24 on Monday. Megan Shue led the Wonders with nine points. Shannon Gallagher scored 11 for the Wildcats.

• South Davidson’s girls beat West Montgomery 54-52 in YVC play on a last-second shot by Madi Beeson.

• Albemarle’s game at North Rowan was postponed. The game was moved to tonight and will be played in Albemarle.

Middle school hoops
Knox’s girls beat Corriher-Lipe 54-35.

Tyzarea Alexander scored 21 points for the Trojans. Niah Spratt scored nine, and Kiilantra Mashore and Chevy Blaire scored eight apiece.

Keirsten Morgan led the Yellow Jackets with 13 points. Kalie Ketchie scored nine.

• Alexander scored 14 points in Knox’s 29-23 loss to Mooresville. Carlee Brawley and Sehrena Hull scored 10 each for the Imps.

• Knox’s girls beat West Rowan Middle 30-12 behind Alexander’s 23 points.

• Knox’s girls beat China Grove 62-35. Mashore led the Trojans with 16 points. Alexander scored 15, while Blaire and Mystajakal Phifer had 10 each.

Madilyn Jones scored 11 for the Red Devils.

Middle school wrestling
Southeast won 76-21 against Corriher-Lipe, and Erwin won 66-24 against West Rowan Middle. See Scoreboard.

Salisbury Academy
Andrew Kalogeromitros had 21 points and four steals as the Salisbury Academy boys defeated Concordia 48-34.

Carter Cook scored 11 points. Marcus Corry had nine points, five assists, six steals, 12 rebounds and four blocks.

Mike Hughes was a defensive standout for coach Ken Clarke’s Jaguars (1-1).

• Salisbury Academy’s varsity girls beat Concordia 44-16 to improve to 3-0.

Maria Capito scored 13 points. Samantha Pritchard had eight points, Jordan McCall scored seven, and Jenny Kribbs and Juliana Anderson scored six each.

Anderson and Ruth Clement led the Jaguars on the boards.

Anderson and McCall combined for nine steals.
